Thanks to anew lawthat went into effect on Jan. 1, 2024, Coloradans can save money and cut air pollution at the same time by enjoying a 30% discount on electric lawn mowers, leaf blowers, trimmers and snow blowers at participating retailers statewide.
Part of a broader effort to cut down the high amount of pollution and noise generated by gas-powered lawn and garden equipment, the new law is designed to make it as easy as possible for consumers to enjoy the discount: no rebate paperwork to fill out, no tax credit to file. This is because the tax credit goes to participating retailers, in exchange for offering a 30% discount to their customers on cleaner, quieter electric lawn mowers, leaf blowers, trimmers and other handheld lawn and garden tools as well as snow blowers.
As of Dec. 8, 2023, Home Depot was planning on offering the discount at all Colorado retail locations. As of Feb. 9, 2024, here are the stores Ace Hardware confirmed will be participating, in alphabetical order by city:
The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment is offering free short-term radon test kits to Weld County residents, one per household, while supplies last. Environmental Health Services also conducts outreach to the general public to increase awareness of the dangers of radon and to encourage testing of homes.
